I want to make changes but it needs to be on my terms…
Help with Hoarding
If you’ve been struggling with clutter for a long time you’ve probably heard lots of unhelpful advice like, “Just get a skip and chuck it all out” or “If you haven’t used it in a year get rid of it”. If only it was that easy!
I understand that dealing with the stuff is scary and you may be ambivalent about whether you even want to change. Or maybe you’re afraid that if you ask someone for help they will take over and you won’t be in control.
I have helped hundreds of people deal with clutter on their terms. I like to start with items of low emotional involvement so you can make noticeable progress while minimising the discomfort of letting go. I use discard agreements to keep you in control and minimise the number of decisions you have to make. I use non-traditional organising techniques to help you identify your treasures instead of focusing on discarding which can feel like you’re being punished.
I will help you and guide you, but it’s your stuff and you are in charge.

“After I was discharged, social workers were sent to my home to check out the condition. They were clearly shocked at how much stuff was jammed everywhere. “This woman may be able to help you,” one said gently giving me the details of a decluttering professional.
That’s when I got in touch with Wendy. When she visited me I felt embarrassed watching her eyes rake through all of the piles but she was friendly and encouraging.
Now my carport, once Chock-a-block with boxes, is empty, and gradually the house is looking much more respectable!
Best of all, I no longer feel ashamed of my surroundings.”
